EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – The 2018 season has been good to start for Chad Pierce & the CP Racing Team. After a 12th place finish on opening night, the team ran solid again last Saturday night at Lebanon Valley Speedway and brought the H. Sausville Construction #83 home in 11th.
Two top 12 finishes to start the season has the team looking ahead as they get stronger come the month of June. Unfortunately so far in 2018, starting position is what has hurt Chad.
“We had a good car last week but just need to be better early in the night,” he said. “If we can qualify through the heat race, we can get in the handicap and have a decent starting spot for the feature.”
The team, led by Chad’s father and the newest member of the Lebanon Valley Hall of Fame Edmund “Peanut” Pierce, has some work to do so they can get their car in victory lane. However, Chad feels they are headed in the right direction.
“We have got some good speed with the engine package we have right now,” he said. “We just need to get the balance a little bit better, but we’re real close. This is the most competitive class that I have ever raced against. Having more Big Block drivers in the field brings all our games up and it’s showing that anybody can win on any given race night.”
Chad currently sits 14th in Small Block Modified points at the speedway, just a mere six markers out of 10th and 18 out of the top five.
The next event on the CP Racing Team’s schedule will be Saturday night at the “Valley of Speed” when Key Bank and Marks News & Variety present another great night of action. Gates open at 5pm.
