EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – On a track that saw a slight rainstorm early in the evening Saturday at Lebanon Valley, Chad Pierce brought his H. Sausville Construction #83 home to an 11th place finish when the feature was completed.
The former Lebanon Valley Sportsman Track Champion had a good car all evening, even though he feels the results won’t show that.
“We were good, but this is another finish that doesn’t translate just how good our car was,” he said. “The rain definitely hurt us as the track had more bite than we were expecting.”
Twenty-four continues laps of racing from start to finish didn’t make things any better.
“It didn’t help us that the feature went green-to-checkers,” he said. “A little bit of luck Saturday and we could be talking about a top five.”
This week brings a new challenge to the Valley of Speed. The first-ever King of Dirt 358-Modified Series event will be held Sunday night at the West Lebanon oval, and Chad will be in competition. He’s ready for the challenge.
“I can’t wait to run that event,” Pierce said. “It’s definitely something different. It’ll be neat to run the event and we’ll be ready.”
Something different from other weeks at the Valley will be the inclusion of time trails to set the heat races line-ups.
“I’ve only run time trials once before and didn’t fair to well (2014 at Super DIRT Week),” he said. We’ll be okay with it. Gives everyone an equal chance.”
Chad currently sits twelfth in 358-Modified track points, just 17 markers behind tenth-place runner Frank Hoard III. To stay up-to-date on all things about Chad, the CP Racing Team and their marketing partners, check out www.chadpierce.net.
