EAGLE BRIDGE, NY – One week away from the opening race of his 2017 season, Chad Pierce and his CP Racing #83 took to the Lebanon Valley High Banks on Saturday to shake down his ride for the upcoming season.
For Pierce, it was the first time behind the wheel this season, and it proved to be beneficial as the car picked up speed each time it was on track.
“Our PMC Chassis was decent all night,” Pierce said. “Each time we got out on track we got better. No major problems at all and we gained speed every time we hit the speedway.”
Chad ran his machine against Big Blocks on Saturday, both in his heat race and the feature, and was excited about how well the car handled.
“I ran behind the second Modified heat race and the car felt good,” he said. “We also ran hot laps and then about a third of the feature event. We made a lot of changes over the off-season and are very pleased with how those changes have seemed to work out.”
Chad’s 2017 racing season is set to get underway this coming Saturday when Heavy Haulers presents the Lebanon Valley lid-lifter for 358-Modifieds. Gates open at 5pm.
